Knitting Club comforts needy

Rita Hoerth jokes that her knitting needles keep her out of trouble.
While knitting does take up much of the St. Ignatius parishioner's time, it also results in well-crafted hats and scarves for children and adults in need throughout Greater Cincinnati.
Hoerth is one of the founding members of the St. Ignatius Scarf It Up Club. The group of 29 women meets the second Monday of each month in the church's Hilvert Center, and they make a wide range of knitted and crocheted items for several local charities.
"We can't mow the grass, so we sit and crochet," said club member Esther Kluba.
