Small stitches bring attention to Indiana woman from Associated Press
A woman who knits tiny sweaters, gloves and socks with surgical needles and magnifier specs is making waves in the art world with her diminutive garments.
Althea Crome Merback's works grace the pages of the latest Ripley's Believe It or Not! book, "Prepare to be Shocked!" and they recently appeared in an exhibit called "Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting" at New York's Museum of Arts and Design.
The mother of four started knitting cotton and silk thread into tiny garments with intricate patterns seven years ago after deciding to build a doll house for her triplets, who were then toddlers.
