They call University of Chicago Hospitals lawyer Jane McAtee "Madame Lefarge" as she quietly knits during breaks in mediation sessions. "I don't do it in court, but I do knit on the El and on breaks," said the Oak Park resident who has been knitting and crocheting since she was 14. She taught knitting when she headed Girl Scout Troop 60 at Beye School, but only started making her hobby a mission about a year ago when a friend developed cancer and went bald during chemotherapy
